CUBA It is worthwhile to note that some of ska's 'founding' members on Jamaica were actually born on surrounding islands: Barbados, Cuba and Trinidad. It would be going too far to discuss the long and versatile career of Cuban born Lorenzo 'Laurel' Aitken. Suffice it to say that he experienced every stage of ska as a recording artist: Jamaican R&B, ska itself, rocksteady, reggae, two tone and all the revivals that followed.
