EMPEROR ROSKO/MICHAEL PASTERNAK Emperor Rosko was born Michael Pasternak in Los Angeles, California. He became DJ in Europe on 1960's pirate station Radio Caroline, Radio Luxembourg and BBC Radio 1. There, he programmed a whole lot of soul and, alongside it, the new sound of reggae. In 1970, he released a cover version of Prince Buster's Al Capone on the British Trojan label. On a French EP entitled 'Prince of Wales Stars', he released 'Al Capone' in a different version. Dice the Boss' 'Tea House from Emperor Rosko', released on Trojan's Joe subsidiary was dedicated to him. And he also graced the sleeve of the Trojan compilation LP Club Reggae Volume Four.
