STEVE ALAIMO In his book Bass Culture Lloyd Bradley is very critical of the ska album of the white American R&B singer Steve Alaimo: 'in spite of backing from the Blues Busters, it was a pretty woeful effort.' Right, the music may be a bit 'stiffly' and may bore a little soon, but I am pretty sure that many ska lovers will appreciate this album. The question is, however, whether they know of it, because this LP is still a rarity. And this reason alone makes it interesting for collectors of ska music.
