OSCAR HARRIS The first hit of this singer of Surinamese descent was a nice ska tune. But he would have done better to have omitted the children's choir (which he was also to make use of in later songs). The successor was a calypso song with a rocksteady beat. 'T.O.P' and 'Clap Hands' reached number 24 and 26 respectively in the Dutch charts. Harris would score more hits in the Netherlands in later years.
