Gitte was born in Denmark, but made a career in Germany. Altough she was known for
performing German 'schlagers', she never stuck to one particular musical style. She
even ventured to do a German language bluebeat song in the style of Millie Small. Gitte
performed this fine song in a moving train in the film Liebesgrüsse aus Tirol, which is -
by the way - a different and more decent film than you would have expected from the
title. In 1973, she finished eighth in the Eurovision Song Context.
